Pediatric Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride treatments are a safe and effective way to strengthen tooth enamel and help reduce the risk of cavities. Children are especially vulnerable to tooth decay as their teeth develop, making preventive care an important part of maintaining oral health. Pediatric fluoride treatments can provide additional protection between routine dental visits.

What Is Fluoride?

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps strengthen tooth enamel and make teeth more resistant to decay.

How Fluoride Helps Prevent Cavities

Fluoride can help repair early enamel damage and reduce the likelihood of cavities developing in vulnerable areas of the teeth.

What Happens During a Fluoride Treatment?

A fluoride varnish or similar treatment is applied directly to the teeth during a routine visit. The process is quick (about 10 seconds), gentle, and generally well tolerated by children.

Benefits of Pediatric Fluoride Treatments

  • Stronger enamel

  • Lower cavity risk

  • Protection between visits

  • Safe and effective preventive care
